Help build housing opportunity. Donate to Mental Health Housing Foundation.

Why your donation matters

A donation to Mental Health Housing Foundation is the best way to help us achieve the following goals:

  1. Develop new housing for low-income individuals who are chronically mentally ill and their families
  2. Maintain existing housing for low-income individuals who are chronically mentally ill and their families in a cost-effective and safe condition
  3. Maintain housing for tenants who are hospitalized and who might otherwise be homeless if housing is lost. Often eviction happens for non-payment of rent or when a landlord believes the home has been abandoned during a sudden and unanticipated hospital stay.
  4. Reduce hospital overcrowding and high costs by providing pathways back to independent living in their community for people ready for discharge from hospitals and nursing homes.

Since 1990, Mental Health Housing Foundation has provided permanent supportive housing opportunities for adults living with persistent mental health disorders. Our program is dedicated to serving low-income individuals and families. Our mission is to secure safe and accessible housing so that everyone can live successfully and independently.

A safe and affordable home is one of the most important factors that impact our overall well-being. Housing offers more than a place to sleep. Supportive housing is where people can rebuild their lives, grow social networks, and most importantly, develop independence.

Your contribution provides long-term supportive housing opportunities and so much more.

Together we can make an impact.

Our organization is funded primarily through private loans and donations to develop and maintain an affordable place to live. Here’s how your donation supports our mission:

  • Maintain affordable housing
    • Our program helps low to very low-income tenants find safe and accessible housing in a competitive housing market.
    • Your donation covers 70% of the costs a tenant would normally pay.
